A Good Bronze paint
« on: May 10, 2019, 01:07:35 AM »
What is a good bronze paint for ancients? I have MSP Ancient Bronze but I want something a little shinier.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

I have no knowledge of metallurgy so take this with a large pinch of salt, but I once read that ancient bronze (don't know how this differs from modern bronze) could look like brass.  So for a bright bronze you could try brass.
I also happened to find, through painting a fantasy figure, that gold with a brown/red wash (Ogryn Flesh, I think) looked like quite a nice bright/polished bronze.

I am sue you will get some more educated answers than this.

I use Vallejo brass over a brown bash, washed then highlighted with Vallejo bronze/brass mix.

I use gold paint followed by a sepia ink wash.
