Looking for shields
« on: May 10, 2019, 08:05:35 AM »
Hi there.

I need Shields for my Oathmark goblins, as the ones that comes in the package doesn´t fit Goblins of my fantasy setting. I need shields  whom are heavily inspired by Viking round shields. Do you have any suggestion for a good supplier of shields for me? I would be grateful.

googlefoo,

sadly em4 seem to be sold out currently of their wonderful little plastic shields

You might be able to ask when they might re-stock

otherwise, lots of options going up in price in some cases a lot considering:

are just some examples

Victrix are releasing sprues of plastic shields. Might be worth checking out.

If your breadloaf comes tied up with a plastic tag then cut the tag up for shields.

If you are not against a little bit of elbow grease what of push pins or brads? Get a pack of 100 from the craft store that are of course round. Can decorate or modify to you see fit.

Depending on the size you want,  Grimmnar's suggestion is a good one. I've used thumb tacks/drawing pins for shields on a number of figures; generally I have to clip the pin a bit to shorten it, but otherwise it just needs a hole drilled in the hand/wrist/arm to be mounted on. They'll lack a boss, though.

First of all I want to thank you all for great suggestions. But in the end I remembered that my brother left his unbuilt Skaven in my care some 15 years ago when he moved. As he never picked them or the hobby up again. I decided to steal the shields for my goblins, instead of his overgrowned rodents.
