Absolutely gorgeous. How do you apply the highlights? Or is it just an optical illusion with everything else being darkened? I imagine the smell of the charring wood is lovely.
Its pretty much like pencil drawing or tatooing. The highlight is the natural color of the wood and everything else gets darkened down. I ve seen some people using colored pencils or markers, by I consider it ''cheating''.
If you are lucky and its a new poece of wood, yes the smell is very nice. My first pyrography was on the guitar of a friend. A cheep plywood Ibanez EX which we stripped down. The problem is that it had this nasty coating that had seeped into the woodgrain. The fumes were enough to feel like getting messages from the gods
