Westhafen: shots fired!
« on: May 12, 2019, 06:16:22 PM »
Reichsbanner in aktion! NKVD arms plot thwarted!

The heroes of the day are left to right
Emil (rifle with scope), Lt Axel (pistol),  Berthold (flag & pistol), Christoph (Bergman), Erich The Tourist (bowler hat & shotgun),  “silent” Fritz (rifle).

The rumour is that a consignment of rifles has gone missing in Westhafen and that the Reds are close to finding it. Following a hot lead, the group find them just as the Reds appear. As the lads pile out of the truck they realise - those are NKVD goons!

A short gun battle ensues, the Reichsbanner lads rapidly gain the upper hand and pin several NKVD; the Commissar shoots one of his own men and removes the pins. Then a burst of Bergman fire and a well placed shot by Emil undoes it and the NKVD bottle out.

A section of Reichswehr (looking oddly Polish ahem) appear and a heated debate takes place, Capt Axel out shouts the Lt and a deal is struck.

Reaction across the city was surprisingly muted; Chief of Police  Zorgiebel was unavailable to comment due to a private appointment at a nightclub, though a secretary from The Alex did say later that “a lot of those KRIPO offices were smelling of grease and gun oil.”

Note - if anyone can explain why the pics appear sideways I’d be interested to hear from you.....
