Hodson (1910) Historical Records of the Governor-General's Body Guard

It has a nice painting of what the GGBG looked like in 1847 in full dress

It would be interesting to know what the colour of that plume and trouser seam was. I have them both as white on my test figure but on this the seam looks possibly yellow and plume a darker colour, red, blue or black seem favourite.

Found it, thats a cracking imag thank you. Red seem on trousers, black plume on shako and what looks like yellow lace on the coatee so a few changes to make but nothing that will take ages.

Here is the color version of the painting. Hope it helps! If you look in the Ackermann book by Schiffer ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ackermann-Military-Prints-Uniforms-1840-1855/dp/0764316710/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?keywords=Ackermann+book+by+Schiffer&qid=1558119594&s=gateway&sr=8-1-fkmrnull ) you will find some other useful info. You can also search the online catalog of the 'Anne Brown' collection held at Brown Univ ( https://library.brown.edu/collections/askb/ )

Hope this helps!

A bit of a repaint and a new horse and the test figure is looking pretty much where we need him to.

You know when you kinda wish you had just stuck to the things you know .......

Thanks to the information provided on this thread I was able to convert some 15mm figures for Sir Henry Hardinges bodyguard.  If you would like to see them and Sir Henry they are on my blog at:

I really like the new figures.
I love the action of the men and the horses,
excellent poses.
