7TV Sweeney Style
« on: May 18, 2019, 10:09:51 AM »
I tried out 7TV at the club this week. Henry has had the game for some time and seems to have acquired an awful lot of cards and figures for 1970s TV shows (The Sweeney, Blakes 7, Doctor Who etc) but hasn't got to play it very often. As most of his Sci-fi figures are still to be painted (like many wargamers I know) we went with The Sweeney. I had the cops and Colin had the armed robbers, with Henry umpiring/explaining.

At first glance it didn't look good for the boys in blue, I had two detectives (star and co-star) with pistols, the rest just had truncheons but the bandits had 2 guys with pistols, 3 with swan-off shotguns and 1 with a sub-machine gun!

Excellent stuff. Spot on deployment of the Coppers. They are vulnerable to range attacks, but once they pile out of a Van and engage, they really come into their own. Glad you enjoyed it :)

If you need vehicles Oxford Diecast have great range of old police cars. I was looking for modern ones when I found them.

The cars are Henry's, he has been haunting charity shops and car boot sales for them.

I'm lucky enough to have an excellent secondhand diecast stand at our Tuesday market. Although he specialises in collectible vehicles in boxes, he usually has a couple of crates of unboxed models and I've picked up some great vehicles for my Pulp/Interwar games.
