Basing Question: 15mm Late War British Infantry for FOW
« on: May 20, 2019, 06:27:24 PM »
Hello everybody,

I am starting work on my second book, which will be about painting WW2 Allied Soldiers.

I have a box of PSC 15mm Late War British infantry and I want to do a tutorial about painting them.
I have some MDF bases with rounded corners which are 30x25mm, some 30x50mm and some 30x70mm.

I want to base them as a platoon plus support for FOW but I dont know the basing convention.

I am thinking of
Command x 3 figures on 50 front x 30 deep
2" Mortar & 2 figures on 25 front x 30 deep
Piat & 2 figures on 25 front x30 deep
Bren & 2 figures on 25 front x 30 deep
Riflemen x 5 figures on 70 front x 30 deep

Does this sound logical? or should I buy some other size of bases?

Thanks

Mick

Mick,

Flames of War uses only two base sizes in an infantry platoon. Medium - 50mm x 30mm approx., and small - 30mm x 25mm approx. All are used 'landscape' (long edge towards enemy). The HQ, "2 mortar, and PIAT teams are on small bases. The Bren and rifle groups are on medium bases.

Cheers
