Well, while I've always quite liked the Reaper one, it has the same problem that all (bar one) have - they're way too small. A Gug is supposed to be 30' tall, and the only mini which came anywhere near to representing that was the Avolakia one (I don't know if it's still available).

I reckon you could make quite a nasty one out of the citadel giant.

Check out the one from Avolak castings, it's without a doubt the best looking gug to date. And it's also in the correct scale.

Link to the Avolak one.  http://www.avolakcastings.com/#!store/productsstackergalleryv20=9

I would say that's just about perfect.  Haven't done it myself, but I have done their Dark Young, Formless Spawn, and not-Y'golonac figs for commissions and they were all top-notch, well worth the price.

Aren't the Gug a creature of the Dreamlands and hence the product of the individual's mind?

There is no suggestion anywhere in the books that the Dreamlands or their inhabitants are unreal, or malleable based on the person dreaming.  The closest to that is the somewhat nebulous geography, but that may just be a combo of Lovecraft being poetic and the natives not travelling very much sosome of them don't know what's over the next hill.  It's much more like an alternate dimension that some people's consciousness can shift in to when they're sleeping.  Experienced Dreamers can do so more easily, and appear to able to arrange to meet and interact there as well no matter what their physical location.  Might be an afterlife of sorts as well - at least one short story has a Dreamer on Earth die physically without affecting his dream-self at all - although he probably can't wake up at that stage.

Impact Miniatures have a cute chibi Gug:

Adorable, although a bit Genestealer-ish for my tastes.
