News from Sloppy Jalopy (SJ)
« on: June 21, 2009, 12:06:03 AM »
Hi Folks,

Received on the Yahoo Group the following announcement from Richard of SJ:
"Sloppy Jalopy are very proud to announce that they have bought the superb range of 1/56th modern vehicles produced by Ian Crouch of Chieftain Models.

As well as being the founder and owner of Chieftain, Ian has also been the main designer of the Sloppy Jalopy modern range so obviously there will be complete compatibility between the two ranges.

Ian had recently sold Chieftain, but new owner Duncan Hamilton does not feel that he is able to dedicate the time necessary to making the business a success and has very kindly allowed us to buy the company.

We are currently in the process of sorting out moulds and masters and hope to start the re-release of the Chieftain vehicles in a few weeks. We do not intend to make any changes to the vehicles so if you have bought from Chieftain in the past you can be assured of the continued quality of the models.

We also intend to add to the combined moderns range and welcome further suggestions for new vehicles.

We would like to thank both Ian and Duncan for all the hard work they have put into Chieftain and wish them the very best with their next projects.

We will have further announcements of new and re-released vehicles over the next few weeks.

Richard and Laurence.

There will be more news to follow on WW1/Interwar releases shortly.

cheers

Tricks"

This is very good news an it remains within the modern family of AFVs and other vehicles, artillery an equipment.

Helen
Best wishes,
Helen
