Hi Eric,
The Temples were made by the great Paul Darnell of Touching  History fame. The dwellings by myself . They are very basic rural buildings of the region.  A little crude but very effective and capture "that birth of western civilisation " time frame.
All scratch built.

Nice. You have definitely inspired me to give it a go myself

Very nice period photos. Great scenery and figures. Everybody seems to jump to 490 BC for the start of the age of the hoplite- but really it was these long wars for a hundred years before that set up the great conflicts that ended up with the demise of the hoplite. These wars for Messenia and wars against tyrants get little merit from gamers- so kudos to you!

Stunning! Lovely models, terrain and colour choices throughout. I particularly love the dynamic basing of the figures - really feels like a Hoplite scrum!

It seems you cornered the world market of 40mm hoplites and support troops! I am impressed by the numbers and figures. Some of the figures are very nice stand alone models. Who makes these? I have numbers of 54mm hoplites collectibles- and now the larger ones too at 60mm but 40mm are great for dioramas. Plus since everybody and his brother is releasing low volume (in miniatures) skirmish games- 40mm seems it would be a hot scale for those games.

These Conte 60mm are a lot of fun, but a bit big for a phalanx :)

Mainly Flashing Blade , a few Romanoff , a few First Legion 40mm.
When l started FB was the only make available for the first few years . They suffer with not enough helmet variety and some skirmish can be a little wooden.
IF l added new units they would be First Legion 40mm.
They are more delicate, slightly smaller but beautiful.  They have been discontinued .
If anybody has any Greek 40mm packs l would love to buy them.

...is that a game you are playing or do you have the troops out for a photo shoot?

If a game, what rules are you using?

Cheers

I used H.C. for the first time but it was my first ancient game ever. Understanding BP helped and  l enjoy its  more dynamic approach.
