Hello,
I have started a collection of 28mm Vietnam war miniatures and I would like to share with you some size comparison pictures. I consider all these minis compatible and I am sure they will mix well when painted. I have all TAG, BAKER, WestWind, and latest Gringo40s and Empress Miniatures. I have only one Parkfield mini I received with a M113. I target to by some others with FullMetalMiniatures too. I am impressed by the sculpt of all of these miniatures and recommend all of them. Thank you. Regards.

Cool shot, loving the tanks. Can you say L-R which mini is which? I can spot the Empress and Gringo40s, but not sure about the rest. Thanks

So the tanks are the 1/50 Corgi M48 Patton tanks from their Unsung heroes range. Bought on EBay. They are very well detailed.
For the minis: on the first picture, from left to right you have : TheAssaultGroup, Baker Company, WestWind Productions (painted), Empress Miniatures then Gringo40s.
For the second picture, from left to right you have: WestWind Productions, Baker Company, TheAssaultGroup, Gringo40s, WestWind Production, Wargames Illustrated, Empress Miniatures, Parkfield Miniatures and the last two are from Wargames Illustrated.
I find these ranges (TAG, BAker, EMP, G40s and WW) complementary. I will try FullMetaMiniatures soon.
For extra info, the Gage Commando is a Solido 1/50. The 203mm howitzer is a 1/72 DeAgostini (just for the decoration).

Thanks for the comparison shots. The Gringos are noticeably bigger imo, but a few mixed in to Empress squads should blend quite nicely 🙂

Cypher 226, indeed they do! I have both and I just cut off the integral base of the Gringo 40 minis. They fit quite nicely then.

I kept the bases on and to be honest they still don’t stand out. Absolutely within the range of human size difference.

A little bit of variety never hurts, and as Stan Ridgway put it; some are "...an awfully BIG marine".

I have used Renedra bases on my Empress USMC, I am hoping that using Warlord lipped will cover any major differences.

Hello, if that can help, here are some other pictures with Gringo40s and Empress Miniatures. I think they will mix well when painted the same style. In my future collection, Gringo40s minis are candidate to represent characters on command bases and would be aside others. I will post other pictures with WestWind, TheAssaultGroup and Baker Company later. So you would have a better panel. Regards,

And with other manufacturers...
I bought all from these manufacturers to get a large variety of poses and to be able to make small dioramas. I think to mix them by similarity of poses. I am quite sure painting all the same style would help to forget their origin. But I understand people could hesitate or are more attracted by a manufacturer's style. Personally, I hesitate to buy Chiltern minis (SHQ now) or Parkfield. But I got the feeling FullMetalMiniatures would mix. Does anybody got some of them?
