Battle of Gnila Lipa (1914) - AAR
« on: June 07, 2019, 05:42:04 AM »
The Battle of Gnila Lipa took place in Western Ukraine as part of the larger Battle of Galicia in August 1914. It was the last of the major battles between the Russians and Austro-Hungarians, fought along the river that gives the battle its name. We will be reproducing the battle for the Joy of Six show in Sheffield on 7th July. Here are examples of the Baccus 6mm Austro-Hungarians:

Field gun and crew

Artillery observer with field telephone

Hussars

Regimental HQ

Infantry firing

Division HQ, with pilot reporting on reconnaissance mission

Looking good :)
Hope to see more. And those Austro-Hungarian Hussars really add some color to the table :-*

And might it be General Conrad von Hötzendorf in the staff plotting another great plan in the HQ? ;)

You've done an incredible job with those, they look brilliant.

I've recently painted my first Baccus 6mm models (ACW) having never really painted much other than 28mm it's quite moreish!

Thank you. 6mm figures are very rewarding to paint. Here are some more - Austro-Hungarian artillery in the olive brown livery.

We played the Gnila Lipa North and South scenarios on Sunday at the Joy of Six Show. The scenarios came from 'Summer Harvest', one of the Eastern Front supplements to Great War Spearhead II. The two maps formed a continuous battlefield with 12 feet of tables. Here are some photos and an AAR:
