[edit] Note to self;  ensure you do click post and not return a number of hours later to discover it had not posted. ...

Not planning to, don't think it was used in Vietnam....  Wiki says 150 was Saudi National Guard?
Finally dug out the Osprey book.
The V150 is post 1969 and is based on a combination of the V100 and V200. I suspect it might look at first glance like a V100 with a big turret, but I suspect would be a redesign.

Plus, as you say - not fielded in Vietnam.

They do seem to have got about.

I blame too much Morrow Project, apologies.

Thanks for checking!

Printing the hull now.  3 of the wheels have failed already... not looking good for the hull!  4 hours to go...

First print failed. I was trying to be too clever.

Second print looks like it might be ok. Draining now...

Looks good. Fascinating to get a glimpse of the process. Cheers!

Can get more pics of the process (and fialures - plenty of them too!) if you are interested.

In essence it's a mobile phone screen in the bottom with a UV LED under it and a vat of UV hardening resin on top.
The build plate is lowered down so it almost touches the screen and there is a thin film of resin between the plate and the screen
The screen acts as a mask for the uv and the uv hardens the film of resin which hopefully sticks to the build plate....
The build plate them pulls the film off the screen then lowers again slightly further from the screen and allows more resin in.
Then repeat the process to build up the layers.

Lots of things to go wrong...

After printing (as aobve) the excess resin needs to be washed off with IPA and the whole thing post-cured in UV (or in the sun) to fully harden the resin.  It comes off the machine part cured so it's still soft.  Fully cured it will be hard but unless painted it will over cure with exposure to sun and become brittle.

Oh and for reference the doors on the side of the hull are 0.3mm thick.  The springs in the door hinges are pretty tiny but still print OK!

I assume that is isopropyl alcohol and not India Pale Ale ^___^.

Fascinating process (if you are not doing the printing and standing there with your fingers crossed).

It is one of those things that looks better in time-lapse.

Not stood watching!

This one took 4+ hours, a full build plate taked around 8-10 depending on settings.
But that is a 0.05mm layers.  It'll go down usefully to 0.02 but obviously that masively increases the time!  It also massively increase the file size which itself slows all the processing down too.

Close up.  Lines on the hull sides are unacceptable
