Any suggestions for 28mm Zouave poses?
« on: June 08, 2019, 04:05:13 PM »
Hi,

Hope you may help by providing Your point of view on the further development of these Zouaves, Please. And offer some opinion on the current development.

There are already finished several charging variants with separate heads provided:

Available in a head pack too separate from the unit:

A officer leading the men has also been added recently:

A trumpeteer is on its way too:

What do you think of the unit/range so far? Which poses would you like to see? Standing/kneeling firing? Casualties? Or does it feel sufficient as it is?

All inputs would be much appreciated.

Thank you :)

Coincidentally I've been searching images of these this weekend for ones that fought in Belgium.

I would definitely add a few firing (one kneeling). Poses that can use the heads you have already.

Thanks for the feedback. These are sculpted by Steve Barber who also has finished this skirmishing Zouave lying prone that will be available too soon:

Standing and kneeling firing poses would seem a good addition and make for a more complete unit.

How about casualties?

A bonus really - and therefore I imagine will always sell less than the active poses (as a wargamer I rarely use them). But it's your range, so if you want them, go ahead.

They would definitely be a potential bonus added after the elementary poses are covered. Personally I like adding a number of casualties as I think they provide atmosphere to the game- in particular to such a bloody mess as the Great war. I prefer to have them litter the table and always like to add a few to earlier war formations like Napoleonics as I feel it adds a dynamic realism, depicting units under fire.
