References for Indonesian warriors - colonial period
« on: June 26, 2019, 09:53:56 PM »
Does anyone know of any print references for the appearance of Indonesian warriors from the Dutch East Indies/colonial period? I have great references for weapons of the archipelago but not much on the dress of warriors.

I'm sure there is at least one article in Savage & Soldier. I'm on my kindle at the moment but can look on the pc tomorrow.

You could also google Dyak or Dayak warriors, this will get you several references.

Photographed these at an exhibition on Raffles' occupation of Java a couple of months back. Good for the first couple of decades of the 19th Century I reckon.

I've been trying to get a Aceh Wars range off the ground and have had a few figures made. Here is a thread on my figures with a couple of photos of the Acehnese warriors.I do have 1 more commissioned as of now.Hoping to do more. https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=110095.0
