THanks!

Might have found a solution to the graticule marks...  it's labour intensive but I think workable.

I've found water slide decal lines and this will give a crisp line I can work with.  Lots of work...  Need to find some suitable numbers now.

That's a lot of lines... but why are you putting that strange blue colour on the tanks?

 ;)

Ordered some paint for the tanks and the LCT.  Centaurs are Service drab (ie brown) and the Sherman is Olive Drab.  Centaurs were apparently not repainted after they were pulled from storage.  LCT is jsut mid grey.

Found some decals for the graticules but not convinced as I need a lot of zeros...
Also found some decals for the LCT numbers.

I've managed to get the bollards, anchor and ventilators to print, first time adn almost without problem.  The problem being my anchor winch base was too thin and warped.  But easily fixed.  Off with an impromptu work trip until Friday now though so I can't assemble it all!

Bit of progress:

I made the bow ramp - then it became apparent that the Port bow section was aobut 3mm out of line...  so ripped that off and rebuilt it.

Stuck the 3d printed bits on and started on the detail.  Also cellulose doped the card so I can be a bit more confident with my sanding/tweaking.  It's got a deckhouse now.

The RMASG is also progressing, the Wading kits on the Sherman and Centaurs is done and I've re-undercoated them.  I'll re-base-coat them tonight probably.

Those turret decals/markings are going to be 'interesting' I'm now tempted to use a biro and 'engrave' them into the plastic then paint.  but I've also got a white ink pen on the way to try.  I'll hit them with gloss varnish first so I can always undo it...

It's a bloody nighmare of angles...  Getting it symmetrical has been a challenge.  Mostly involving building it nearly symmetrical then using a large file to fix it...  lol

Front 'nudge bar' and detailling next.

The rear hull is held together with loads of external bolts and I'm not sure if I want to try to 3d print them in detail or just add strip/rod.

The base model is a mess as it's me previous RMASG sherman repurposed.  I was never happy that it was an M4 hull not an M4A4 (V) hull.  I had to grind off alot of the previous surface detail like the nasty cast on tow rope and some of the tools.

I'll raid the bits box see if I can find an appropriate tankie as a commander.  The problem is a lot of the Warlord crews are upscaled 1/72 and relatively tiny.

If you get stuck I might as well make you a half figure to go with the navy type's.( just need to adjust hair line's and add two buckles so essentially there done)As they flew out I've a little spare time to fit it in.Before I get sidetracked on a personal project.
Mark.

I'll check the box of crew (I've got quite a few) first but might take you up on that!  (Still need the details of the stuff you need  ;) )

Nice work.

I saw one of those at the D-Day museum a few years ago, I thought it was scarily complicated.
