Peninsular War Battlefield Tour
« on: June 25, 2019, 09:26:41 PM »
Now in to the second week of a three week trip across Spain and Portugal, I have grabbed some time to put together a post looking at our first three days covering the Corunna retreat of Sir John Moore.

This area of Spain offers dramatic changes in scenery, moving from the Galician mountains onto the plains of Leon and when referring to some of the accounts of those who took part in the campaign, really helps bring the sites to life.

Fabulous and envious Johnathon, a absolute cracker of a blog post.

I do like to walk the battlefields, as ex-army and professional surveyor I can get a feel for a battlefield when I walk it, particularly with first hand accounts and battlefield reports, I have Penisula battlefield sites on the one day list.

cheers

Enjoy your trip Jonathan, it certainly is a beautiful part of Europe and steeped in history, a perfect trip for wargamers and tourists alike.

Very substantial and so well presented, one feels he was there!
