Agincourt and Lion Rampant
« on: June 28, 2019, 05:36:19 AM »
Hello all. Just wanted to share my first unit of Agincourt / late hundred years war sergeants with you all.

Perry Minis. Didn't add any shields because I personally don't really like the look of the passives. Call me strange, but maybe I'll put them on crossbowmen only, no infantry.

Also its the first time putting on a paper flag on any miniatures.. think it turned out okay!

So these lads are your basic sergeants but I am wondering for Lion Rampant what I should work on next. i am not building a great force, nor have access or plan to build any extra models outside the French Infantry box set.  I have a force of unpainted metal mounted sergeants that I will use.. so I guess I am making a predominate infantry force.

What should I make the rest of? Experts? Crossbowmen? more spears? Or should I just go buy a box of knights at some point? :P

Cheers

Lovely all round. I like that the colours are realistic but not dull. My kind of thing - and I like the bases and flag too.

Very nice colours. What colours and techniques did you use for the guy in the padded jack / gambeson at the front left?

Thank you everyone. They were my first Perry minis and first time applying paper flags, so  they were a treat to do up!

My technique is the basic Citadel one (Prime it, base color, wash, layer, then edge highlight).

I use all citadel paints, save the primer - my primer is always black no matter what I paint - I use a car automobile one in this case since Citadel's primer has always caused problems for me.

I base Zandri Dust , then wash with Seraphim Sepia, then Layer Ushabti Bone, and finally highlight with screaming skull.  It's a fairly straight forward recipe that gives a bleached / off-white look.  I think in old citadel paint schemes it was the standard paint job for warhammer fantasy Tomb Kings.
I just thought it looked good as a gambeson color. :)

Cheers!

Perfect choice of colours, personally love realistic tones.

I would suggest going for foot knights and crossbowmen next, for a typical French 1410's warband  :)
