Interesting, good to see it works on wings aswell. And yes, Bob Olleymodels seem to have been sculpted for contrast paints...

I reckon this guy is my best effort with contrast paints so far. They're really handy for this sort of highly yet subtly detailed figure:



I'm not going to use contrast on the accompanying banner, though, just watered down conventional paint, as I think that will provide a better base for heraldry.

depends which colour you have in mind for the flag I'd say.
some contrast paints, such as blood angels red, would work very well I think.

Yes, I might use that for the top bit. But for the main flag, I want to paint a design on black, and I think black paint will prove less vulnerable to rubbing off and better for working on than the black contrast paint.
