Pulp Alley Ski Pursuit
« on: June 30, 2019, 11:32:52 AM »
A couple of weeks ago my son, Lewis came over to stay for a couple of days. We are both huge Pulp Alley fans, so of course planned to play a couple of new scenarios while we were together

We flipped a coin to see which league we would play. I got 'Bond' who is a single miniature 'Extraordinary Character; League. This is a new concept in the 2nd Edition Pulp Alley rules, you pay 5 points for the character and then can spend your remaining 5 points on either supporting characters or in this case on additional skills.

As usual for Pulp Alley the game was played on a 3' square table. Bond starts at one corner and to win needs to exit from the opposite corner (this is the major plot point). Four minor plot points were placed on the table, these represent places that Bond can perform a stunt (turn, fire weapon and do a backward flip etc.). Only Bond can attempt plot points. At the end of the game the KGB earn all plot points that have not been taken.

That’s a very innovative use of Pulp Alley. I love it, Bond being my favourite fictional character. I did a ski game and took it to Salute and other shows, a few years back, but it was much more complex to set up (and had magnetised figures). Great set up!

Just brilliant Chris!! Did you use the normal movement distances or did you increase them to factor for the skis?

Normal distances as everyone was on skis. You could move over 6" only if you were heading down the slope.

Glad you like it. Pulp Alley is just such a versatile game. I love it.
I should have mentioned that we will be including Free printed Pulp Alley character cards for the characters from this scenario to any one that picks up the Ski-Pursuit pack of miniatures from our Classic Movie Miniatures Kickstarter.

Very nice touch. Also (another, sorry) quick question. Do you have any idea of up until when it will be possible to make “add ons”? Say I backed the £60, but really want the Soviet Paras. When would I need to add them by? Is it only for the duration of the KS? Hope that makes sense...

Very clever scenario idea. I am glad you posted this. How big are the bases for the skiers?

The bases for the skiers are 25mm x 50mm lozenges for our clear base range.

Commander Roj: The kickstarter runs until 15th July so you can adjust your pledge up until then an when complete it will move over to backer kit and you will be able to add to pledge at that point as well.

We have also added a couple of other desirable s for Pulp Alley gamers today.

Details to follow on a separate post, or check them out @ https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/179272384/classic-movie-miniatures-episode-3-white-out/posts/2554014
