Cross of Iron - suitable figures
« on: July 01, 2019, 06:43:01 PM »
Hi all
I've just finished watching Cross of Iron (I bought the blu Ray at the weekend and have seen the film for a few years) and decided it would make an excellent skirmish game and I'm going to get the excellent looking set from Empress but which other Germans are compatible with these figures for late 1943 Russian front

Cheers
Steve

I seem to recall there was a 'Sergeant Steiner' miniature in the Giants in Miniature range.

In addition to that Eureka make a Steiner figure complete with PPsh. It used to be in their Pulpitations range. I have a couple myself.

Try these - characters from the film sculpted by Paul Hicks

I think Steve501 was looking for Germans to join the Empress set. My limited knowledge would point you in the direction of Artizan or Warlord for 1943 German troops

That's right I am looking for additional figures to with Empress excellent looking set. However I have spoken to Empress Miniatures who are planning to release additional Germans, Russians and further characters from the film.
I think I will wait until these are released, this will allow me to make some terrain boards with a factory, trenches and bunkers

Don't know if they're compatible size-wise or not with Empress, but 1st Corps made a Sgt. Steiner and a set of guys to go with him too, back in the day.

From what I've read the 1st Corps figs are on the larger side of the scale.

I’ve also decided to wait for Empress to release more for this.
It’ll be worth it!
