Painting some Nappy Russians...
« on: July 03, 2019, 11:11:19 PM »
Heyhey, I currently got a bunch of Russian Napoleonics on the table. Cool thing is that it's not just a billion line troops (even though I'm not opposed to that either), but small units of Grenadier/Guard formations.

First, we got the Siberia Grenadiers (left, Perry minis) and the Pavlov Guard regiment (right, Front Rank):

It's a small-ish, unflattering picture because it's just a WIP shot. Once those are done I'll paint the Tsar himself and later on another special formation: The Chevalier Guard Cuirassiers (1812). First time I'm painting napoleonic Russians. I've done Austrians, French and British, but so far no Russians. Neat, neat.

..and we're done!

The whole happy band:

Pavlov Grenadiers (1812 and later; Front Rank miniatures):

Siberia Grenadiers:

The nice thing is that the way they're posed and arranged these chaps of course look quite different to their Pavlov comrades. A nice contrast there. All Perry miniatures.

Last but not least, Alexander I.(also by Front Rank):

So neat colors!
You achieved an impressive result!
And the Czar is imposing!
And the flags, oh my!  :-*
Many congrats!!!

@Plutarch64: Thanks very much!

@vtsaogames: Dito. :D Thanks for commenting!

@DintheDin: Ha, thank you for dropping by! The torn up flag at the Tsar's horse's hooves is freehanded (because I didn't want to rip up a GMB flag for that).

@OSHIROmodels: Thanks, Sir! I'm not the bad man here. While painting those I was seriously at risk of ordering a whole lot of Russians myself. In 6mm AND 28mm. :D Still at risk, to be honest. I mean I do need an opponent for my Frenchies...

@Digits: Thanks very much!

Right, one more set of photos of the Russians for now.

As you may have noticed, the pictures don't show any more. No idea why that is, but i'll figure it out. I guess until then I'll use imgur for dumping some pictures?

Really? Oh, that's a HUGE relief. Thought I'd have to start rehosting them somewhere else. Must be one of my numerous privacy and paranoia plug-ins on my browser then :D
