Citadel Contrast Colour update 11.7.19
« on: July 04, 2019, 07:54:46 AM »
I tried out the citadel contrast colours on one of the gringo 40 Vietnam Marines. It is not finished yet !

The paint is in reality a heavily pigmented wash. I think it works as a foundation but is not a solution in itself!

I agree, great for tabletop quality but stick to the regular paints if you are after perfection or use these sparingly. That is a good start though quite a gritty look for him.

I think for surfaces with many folds etc like clothes or fur these are quite good but for flat surfaces like armor or helmets not so.

So i finished the test miniature. It took me about 20 minutes to do , excluding drying times. I think it is a good table top standard. Definitely not for a painting competition. But can be used for one as a base or starting point. I tried this to see how quick I could get a new army painted by using mainly Contrast paints.

In my summer holiday (two weeks of) I will try to paint as many as i can. Aim is to paint a complete squad of US Marines for Vietnam. Lets see how much I can manage in 2 weeks!
