Grooleshi - Elephant folk for D&D
« on: July 05, 2019, 05:42:02 PM »
This is the first of several Grooleshi from the Monstrous Lexicon manual. They’re an elephant race, that can also be used as player characters in D&D. I’ll eventually get this guy clothed and armed, but it might also be handy to have a slave variant or even a decadent kingpin, if you add a little bling.
He’s 40mm to his eyes.

Don't know anything about D&D, but I remember a Conan story that had a guy like this in it. Cool!

I think he’d fit into a lot of gaming Worlds. From a chaos beast man to even a home brew superhero maybe?

Or everyone's second-favourite Hindu god, if you tart him up with some jewelry and knick-knacks. Maybe for a Hindu-themed Of God's and Mortals army?

Good for Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago as well, although one with a polearm or big blade would be better.

Superhero for sure - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-style mutant.  Fantasy - he'd make a truly unpleasant broo for Glorantha/Runequest.  Not as bad as the legendary broo-allosaur mix, but arguably worse than broo-rhino types (which there's already a decent mini for in Dreamblade, anyway).

I’ve got a second one underway, in a fighting pose and wielding a polearm:)

Some more progress on the Grooleshi Miniature. I still have more work to do on his weapon, but pretty close to finishing.
I’m looking at a September Kickstarter for this guy and his friends. August is just flying by and there’s still a few sculpts to make / finish off.
He’s also getting an alternate head.

Very cool. Love the weapon. I also started my own elephant man sculpt a while back. Quite a fun topic to sculpt I found.

huge amount of character in that sculpt - almost comes up with a narrative by itself!
excellent.
