Two other sculpts painted up:

In the end, I don't think either of these will make the cut as members of my happy-go-lucky crew, but they will certainly get time on the table.

This guy came out better than I imagined. As soon as I got into sculpting I knew I wanted something that felt pieced together, and I got that. The parts of the figure look like he had been collecting body parts from victims to assemble himself a new body. It is the kind of thing my kid brain would want to see. Cool gun arm from a transformer, leg from some kind of construction robot, other leg from a GI Joe, arm from the liquid metal terminator, etc etc.

Thanks Dan! I'm definitely feeling better with my sculpting the more work I do. Funny how that happens lol

So true.

That’s why, if I can get my left hand to ever work again, I’m gonna have a lot of catching up to do!

What happened to the hand, Dan? I must have missed that info somewhere along the line.

I snapped some group pics of the sculpts to date for this project. I didn't bother adding any of my scrambling little critters, but perhaps they can be their own group shot at some point.

Thanks Monkey! It is a bit of a ragtag bunch, but that is life on the fringes of the galaxy!

That little guy in the blue visor and the yellow spacesuit is still my absolute favorite.  You should make a few poses of him and get them produced!

Dan
PS.  About the left hand, along with my worsening arthritis I’ve been having tendon issues and had to have surgery.  My index finger is still painful when holding things.

This is his eyeball, not a visor.  lol He is my version of Plankton from Spongebob

Only without the antennae because I'm not crazy enough to think those won't be constantly bent/broken. I think he is around 8mm tall? In my world he is a powerful psyker and bodyguard of the gangster Mr. T.

I think we are talking about different figures.  The one I’m talking about is a bit to the right of the purple guy (our right).

I can see by your pictures of the the group shot that I need to add more color to my figures. I think I try to be narrow in my thinking of what colors a universe of aliens should be and not open enough that "Hey not every life form has to be dull in color!" So I have been looking at our own planet's colorful wildlife for inspiration of colors.

Dan

The one standing in the back half of the base? "Second row, far right?"
One and the same, if so. He is just a cream-yellow color with a blue eye instead of being green with an orange eye. He is an alien after all, and not an Earth "Spongebob Plankton"  lol

Who is to say those bright colors aren't camouflage on their home planet? Or maybe it really isn't and they are just mating colors. Hard to say what the universe has in store for us once we get all the way out there.

LOL.  If so, then I can’t wait to see your terrain!  :)

Some updates on the evil galactic empire's newest conversions.

A couple elite guard types:

I'm still working my way through armoring them up. The pole axe guns are a little hard to see in the picture, but hopefully you get the idea.

And the unit commander (currently just primed). I snipped off the bubble face mask and sculpted on a face for this one.

He also got some belt pouches and a communications pack so he can keep track of his troops on the field.
