Britcon 2019 - Manchester 10-11 August
« on: July 14, 2019, 11:20:02 AM »
The Britcon Trade Show will be returning to the now-familiar surroundings of the Barnes Wallis Building at Manchester Uni over the weekend of 1oth-11th August.

Just come along and we will let you in for free – yes, that’s right, no entry cost at all as we want you to be able to spend all of your hard earned cash with our loyal traders… and you can’t say fairer than that!

This year we have for you a host of new and returning faces at our Britcon Trade Show.

The new traders this year include:

Art of War Shirts – a range of uniquely designed, well printed and good quality tee shirts for anyone interested in military history – or who happens to have forgotten to pack enough clean clothes for Britcon weekend!

You can even suggest new designs and they may well end up being added to their collection! Have a chat to them at the show of contact them via their website.

Christopher Morris Books – are a specialist bookseller from Derbyshire who will be stocking around 500 titles on their stand, including an extensive range of Osprey books including all the latest titles as well as a large selection of wargaming books. All titles are discounted by at least 20% and the Osprey Campaign Series, which are usually £14-99 each, will be £11-99 each or £10 each if you buy two or more.

Floating World Designs, aka Glasgow-based artist Stuart Hammond creates images of Warriors, Samurai, Ronin, Actors and Courtesans in the Ukiyo-e style of 19th century Japanese woodblock prints, with t-shirts and posters available. Stuart will be releasing new Warrior prints at the show and will offer a 20% discount off the cheapest items where there is a multiple purchase.

Monarch Games are a wargames trader with a wide range of rule sets, Board games, Gamers Grass, Osprey publishing, various plastic products from the Frostgrave and Oathmark ranges on sale. Check out their stock on their website before the show.

We also have offers and new releases from our regular traders, including:

Ainsty Castings are running a great discount as their Britcon show offer – all Ainsty branded resin and metal kits will be on sale at 20% discount for the whole weekend, as well as carrying all of their other Gripping Beast, North Star and other Saga-related ranges.

The Pit gaming store have a phenomenal offer of 20% off RRP of all their our stock that is priced £10 and above!

Lesleys Bits Box will have brand new Games Workshop boxed models at 15% off RRP, as well as a large collection of Epic models which will be onsale at the show this year

Colonel Bills have their 10% pre-order discount running for anything booked in through the pre-order facility in their online shop for Britcon collection (select “pre order and collect at a show”) or by email or phone. Contact Colonel Bills via their website for more details and to place your pre-order. They will also have a brand new MDF model kit of a Border Reiver Peel tower complex based on Smailholm tower near Kelso, and hopefully 3 more post-apocalyptic Belt-fed girls.

Instant Armies will again be attending Britcon, which they tell us is one of their favourite shows of the year. This year they have 28mm figures both painted and unpainted from various manufacturers, and for the 15mm historical gamers their stand will have literally thousands of 15mm figures again painted and unpainted.

Dave Lanchester will have 100’s of Osprey boosk on sale, all priced from just £5 and some at 5 for £20.

Hoka Hey have extended their range of resin buildings with some new houses and forts for their Border Reiver figures to fight over, and will also be carrying the Mortem et Gloriam range of rules and accessories.

Forged in Battle have confirmed that they will be previewing their new Dark Ages ancients figures on their stand for Britcon – they’re not yet available to order outside of the Kickstarter, but you can see the figures in the metal and plan your next order.

There are details and links to all of our traders websites on the BHGS website Britcon Trade Show Page

Britcon also has a well stocked Bring & Buy – Britcon is great for a Bring and Buy, as our 200-odd players are definitely there to the end of the weekend and so tend to bring quite a lot of stuff to show over the weekend.

If you want to see stuff yourself we also help you out by giving you the chance to complete your Bring & Buy entry form in advance – download it from our website to save time and see if you can cover the costs of your weekend’s gaming by clearing out some long unused figures and models!
