very interesting, but are you sure that all the period pictures are from the Heer and not from the Frontier Guard (Bundesgrenschutz is my spelling is right). These chaps had an interesting mix of equipment...

Are these mountain troops?

Or indeed BGS?
Some odd translations, but the Bergmutz appears to have been issued to BW in general before being superseded for non Mountain units.

If your looking at doing some 1950s action. This link might be of intrest. https://www.docdroid.net/LjUq5xg/colliers-weekly-27-october-1951.pdf

Its a long read, but set in the 50s for a cold war gone hot around 52 and a war lasting tell 55.
covers the war in over view, some major engagements, limited atomic exchange and occupation of the former Soviet union.
It also comes complete with 50s era adverts because its from a magazine. lol
Oh and thank you for sharing. I might Use some of your idea on some extra Empress GIs I have in 43 pattern uniforms. Might just add some pockets to their paints and hoods with green stuff, and work from there.

"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.
