Lovely brushwork on some good looking miniatures.
Best wishes,
Helen

Approved!

Very nice indeed. Where are the miniatures from?

I have always wanted a Byzantine army.

Erik

They are Aventine Miniatures, they are the first of the range covering the Early Byzantine period. Next up will be a unit of lighter armoured infantry.

Thanks Keith

That should have been obvious, but then again why read when you can just look at the pretty pictures ;D ;D

Hi Keith
Your figures are still first rate, I've discovered the new archers. However, without being rude, I must say that I don't see any use for them as skutatoi-line infantry, if not as dismounted equites: the cost of having such heavy archers was way too high, and even the heavies are for just a few front line sub-officers detachable as choc troops, called antesignani or propugnatores or whatever. Or plain dismounted lombard auxiliaries-mercenaries-allies if you prefer, but with probably more barbarian shields.
So I'm waiting for the less armoured troops with great impatience!

Indeed, they would make wonderful dismounted heavy horse archers for Belisarius!
