Bamboo Grove
« on: August 05, 2019, 10:23:22 AM »
I finally finished the bamboo grove that I have been working on. Look on it and weep. I certainly do  :(.

This one small piece of terrain took as much effort and as long as 10 infantry minis would normally and I have at least 2 more groves that I need to finish!
Here is a pic of the grove in place at Fu's garden of delights and terror.
Got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.

I'd say time well spent though! Looks very good!  :D

I might even try to go for that look now, might be nice for my Kong Jungle.

Well now that it's done, the rest should be easy.  :D

That looks beautiful. Did you make / paint the bamboo? Would like to hear how you did it!

That looks great. I was lazy and didn’t paint my bamboo.
Did you undercoat the plastic bamboo first?

Thanks everybody! princeman they are plastic with interior wire and I bought them off eBay. I will have to do a minimum of one more grove so I will post the painting process when I do. Scrubber yes I undercoat the bamboo in black before I start painting.

Bought mine from eBay as well. If you want a few packs and willing to wait, then worth bulk buy from China.

Well a year later I got another bamboo grove finished. They are fiddly, time consuming, and pretty much required for my Chinese and Pacific games. Going back in this thread I see that I promised to show how they are painted.....well, next time.

Very nicely done Sir! I bought the same - long vrsion I think so quite large even for 28mm. I just sprayed mine with three different shadesof green from rattle cans. Then varnish.
