Ouch -- an ignominious end to an otherwise pretty succesful campaign.  Whenever I've worked my way into the top tier I've received a subsequent spanking, as if to say "Get back to your place!"   :( :)

Who makes that leftmost figure in the first entry, the bearded huntin' chap with rifle, hat & vest? He's in at least one other entry this round too, and I can't place him - or find him in the catalogs of any of the "usual suspects"...

Spectacular crab, too - I think the BAR & that big hunting rifle are going to be needed very, very shortly!

Sorry, Mancha - the ECW3 figures are nice, but they need to drive that car to a Lost World to stay current!  :)

No doubt!  But if I wanted my job to stay current, I had to avoid painting for a while.   :)

But of course it's more than the mere fact that my entry is old; Patrick's paintjob is pretty damn great.  In the last round I almost posted a challenge to Patrick to get out of his pallette and paint something colorful.  I'm glad I didn't actually post that challenge, because I'd be eating a serious dish of crow right about now.

The miniature in question is Alan Quartermain. The Copplestone miniature is an exclusive from RLBPS. http://www.rlbps.com/RLBPINDEX.html.

Mancha, I did try to add a bit of dynamic color, but it was hard to get a good pic considering the number of models in a 800 max pixel pic. I hope that that the insert shows the size of the giant crab.

I have enjoyed the comp and look forward to next year. I applaud all of the painters. Great Job!

Great painting on both entries as we have come two expect of the both of you. I really love the cavemen and the crab. The other entry is very nice and if it was a new entry it would have been difficult to choose, but new is still better in the LPL for me, so sorry Mancha, but I had to vote for chambers ;)

A crab! Who would have thought of using that as beasty. Terrific idea. I also like how you pitted both adventurers and natives together against the monster. It works well in the shot. I would have preferred some scenery in it, but you can see the miniatures very well this way, which also counts :)
