28mm Sengoku Jidai project
« on: August 14, 2019, 05:06:35 PM »
A few months ago, I took a bit of a break from 6mm Sengoku to paint some 28mm samurai, just a few to maybe play Test of Honour or something. Needless to say, the whole thing got out of hand rapidly and resulted in the beginnings of the construction of part of the city of Sakai, along with learning more about Muromachi-era pottery than I ever thought I would. Never ceases to impress me where the hobby can lead you. Anyway, this is where we are now. Figures mostly Kensei, with the odd one from other ranges. Buildings mostly TT Combat (heavily modified, especially the roofs), with the odd scratch-built one.

^ Kensei 'wako' figures here as kaizoku and Murakami ashigaru

^ Oda clan troops

Fantastic stuff - who are the two westerners in the last pic? Spies? Merchants? Ambassadors? Adventurers?

They're European traders by Eureka Miniatures. My original idea was to be set in Sakai city, which was a prominent trading town in the Sengoku era. So I got a few Europeans for a bit of colour.

Thanks - one of them is definitely from my hometown Siena as he sports a black and white dress with the city colors ;-)
