A website full of Soviet veteran accounts of the war. Most are in Russian, some have been translated into English for the benefit of the Anglo-Saxon set.

Some great lines in there, delivered in what I can only imagine is the sort of withering deadpan that Slavs can pull off. For example, and infantryman describing a battle where his infantry company, unsupported by artillery or armor, is about to be attacked by tanks:

Interviewer: What is the problem?

Shelepov: The problem is that a tank is made of steel, and you are not.
