Rackham blisters & board games: get 'em while you can!
« on: June 29, 2009, 02:08:23 PM »
Forgot to post it here, but Ludik Bazar has the last of Rackham's stock of metal miniatures, including Hybrid and Nemesis (both for 25 euros :o ). You can find the last models at:

http://www.ludikbazar.com/

The prices are absurd and if you're in Europe, the shipping fees are not that bad (especially if you order a lot).

Don't worry, Rackham is not dead : they just stop the production of metal miniatures. Their new games AT-43 and Confrontation the Age of Rag'Narok use plastic and pre-painted miniatures.

I don't think that 'going big' as an obvious boon to anyone. I generally mean that you are trying to make conformists out of us rather than providing stuff we can play with as it pleases us.

Well, I must say that I donc understand that one.  ???

The most important is that Rackham still supports its two main and excellent games with good miniatures.

OT is a "pure" painter and addict to lead so he should be very, very bored with only pre-painted plastic toys  ;)

Luckily, to each his own !

Quite right.  I’m only a painter, so no interest in pre-painted.  And I prefer metal to plastic figures.
No offense intended fbruntz   :)

Time to start saving my money!

I need some more Mid Nor stuff. I found out they have actually gotten rid of them altogether, even in the modern version.

Although, the modern rules aren't even as good as the previous ones. The miniatures are dire in comparison and the pre-painted aspect is annoying.

i'm not impressed with the pre painted plastics i gotta say.

didn't they get rid of a bunch of their sculptors as well?

if they went the way of GW and did multi part plastics (to the same quality of their metals) it wouldn't be so bad. pre painted plastics are only good if you need a hoard of zombies in a very short space of time.
now i just wish i had some money to buy some of that metal goodness.

They did do multipart plastics. The Abberation Prime is a plastic model, far superior quality to any GW model, but much less posability.  ;)

oh yeah, i do have that model. its so beautiful i weep every time i take it out of its packet.

Seriously though, i have had it since it first came out (pretty much) and haven't made it yet, every now and then i take it out, look at it and think i need at least 2 more before i even attempt to paint and build 1.

the production values on nemesis and hybrid must have been through the roof. but it was such a good game.

I heard it was awful and just as hard to understand...

I'd still love a copy nonetheless, havin not tried it myself.
At that price as well...  :(

Shame I have no money.
