SMF Hellboy?
« on: August 25, 2019, 10:37:27 PM »
Hi all,
Never played any supers before, but after years of fantasy and sci fi, am wanting to try the genre out.
I have goalsystem delves, would love more for it,  and was wondering how close SMF rules are. Also can it do a low powered game, Hellboy style. A few heroes against hordes villians and a few lovecraft style monsters?
Lastly, should I wait for second edition?
thanks Jason

First, thanks for considering my rules! I really appreciate it!

Second, SMF 2nd ed. will be available in PDF in a day or so, and the POD copies will be available from Lulu sometime next week. I am super-excited about that!

You can pretty easily do Hellboy stuff with the game. I would make him a Wildcard. The pyrokinetic can be a Blaster with damage field.

You could also choose to run the whole thing using Street-Level archetypes for Hellboy and crew. More powerful foes could use standard archetype and/or the Titan rules.

Also, the Henchmen rules will allow for nameless hordes showing up and causing trouble.
