Bloodsbane's Frostbitten Adventures
« on: August 28, 2019, 10:48:15 PM »
So I've been puttering about with some snowy terrain and the fantasy belligerents to go with it. Me and some friends have been talking about doing a "Skyrimheim" project pretty much since Skyrim came out. Ever so slowly I'm making progress with it. And today I tried to push my photography skills (and available equipment) as far as they'll currently go, and present some of what I have so far. Constructive critique is more than welcome.

We'll see if Modiphius' Elder Scrolls minis will match my Red Box collection. If not, I guess I'll have two parallel wintery fantasy skirmish projects going. I can live with these dudes telling me about the world they live in on their own terms.

Get behind me, boy. These are dangerous men.

We won't let you ransack the tomb of our ancestors, southborn scum

Are you sure you want to be standing in our way?

Damn it all, none of our arrows are getting through their shields

I actually have a whole load more lil dudes painted for this project. I had the idea that I wanted to collect all this stuff on a blog, but I guess I can do that even if I've shown it off over here first.

Really nice.  Thematic shots and Red Box Games minis...can't really go wrong there.   I'd own the whole damn Red Box range if they scaled with the rest of the stuff I own.  Neat minis.

Really nice presentation, and so much more exiting and interesting than just a few miniatures on a table :)

Holy shit! Half a year since I posted this? Time to stir up some movement in here again.

Thank you so much for your kind words, gentlemen. I have a respectable collection of Red box, Hasslefree, V&V and various plastic kitbash minis I need to take some scenic photos of. Guess I'll post this one from the Lead Painter's league up in here too, for completeness' sake.

I'm getting quite hyped for the Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms release later this year. And if I'm going all in on a Skyrim terrain table, what better place to start than at the beginning? So the gates of Helgen it is. Prisoner wagon next I suppose lol

(Is the fantasy board the right place for this stuff? Should I have started a thread in the workshop for the terrain making bits of the project instead?)

Scale mini is a Frostgrave Templar with a head from the Fireforge russian infantry.

Looking really good. It's up to you if you want to use the Workbench for terrain, but I have no problem with it being here as it ties the project in nicely.
