Ash mate, you need this book!
I bought CofC specifically to play the actions the author describes. He took part in most of the Company/Platoon actions described, the sketch maps are perfect wargame scenerios.
He says with relief, they never faced the dreaded Waffen SS. But states if they fought like the Fallschirmjager 'Paraboys' they met from Italy to the wars end. He was glad they didn't.

May I also recommend "Battalion" by Alistair Borthwick

Then there's always '18 Platoon', ' Fear is the Foe' and 'From the City from the Plough'.

With the J***s is the British equivalent of Band of brothers, superb book, as for the usage of the word J**k I served in a Scottish infantry unit for 26 years and all Scottish soldiers are J***s and proud of the name same as wearing a ToS, why would you want to wear a beret!
Spielberg and Hanks should make this book or Brothers in Arms by James Holland (About the Sherwood Foresters Yeomanry) into their next WWII HBO series, but they won’t as only the septics fought in WWII 😉

Currently reading: 'Lion Rampant' by Robert Woollcombe. Also KOSB. 1st half is battle Normandy , that's where I'm at so far. Gripping book, can highly recommend.

Sorry but it’s a question of economics.  American producers aren’t going to commission a whole series about a British unit in WW2 because it wouldn’t sell in America not because they don’t think any British were involved.  Have a go at the BBC, ITV or Sky for not commissioning a British version.
