Hello all,
With a new 3D printer several months ago, one of the things I wanted for gaming is a U-boat. Found the file and did my thing. The print took about 75+ hours. I had to print in parts as my print bed is smaller than most. Once the parts were glued up, I added some details like the railing. Once painted did some minor rigging and added a couple of homemade decals. This is a boat from the 9th Flotilla…thus the laughing saw fish logo. I’ve had a few folks ask me how you will use that in a game. Well…it needs a dock or a landing…wallah! This is the game board from my infamous “Saving Private Ryan” game. This is obviously a quick staged picture of what could be. The Kriegsmarines figures are all from Warlord, and based out for Chain of Command. My “squids” have a place to call home now. Not very keen in WWII German naval landings, but I’m sure there are quite a few scenarios to glean from…fact or fiction. The beauty of having a 3D printer is the endless options of vehicles and terrain to print. I was thinking of printing out a Landwasserchlepper. I saw one from M-Bergman on Thingaverse which has one out of the water, and one with a waterline. Anyways, here are a few pics.
