Confused about This Is Not A Test rules regarding Experience
« on: September 09, 2019, 05:54:47 PM »
Hi!  I've played a few one-off games of TNT, and I'm still a little unclear on how experience works.  Consider the scenario "Pest Control" which has an experience table like so:

Wounding an enemy model or taking one out-of-action: 1
Participating in current scenario: 2
Destroying a zombie nest: 2
Taking an Irradiator out-of-action: 2
Winning warband leader: 2

I'm not quite clear on how all this is calculated.  Is it the case that exeryone gets 2 points just for showing up (the 2nd line), any model whose attack is the "final blow" for the 1st, 3rd, and 4th criteria gets 2 points, and the leader gets 2 additional points just for showing up (assuming they survive?)

Or does it all get dumped into a big pool for each team and the players can distribute how they see fit?

IIRC, by character - apply each condition individually to applicable models.

I would second what the poster above me said.

On page 144 in the Core Rulebook it says "Models earn experience by defeating the enemy, completing scenario objectives, or simply surviving".

Since the experience is directly tied to the models and their actions in the game I am pretty sure you can't allocate experience from a pool.

Another strong indicator is that in Reality´s Edge (same author and about 80% the same ruleset) models also earn experience individually by completing objectives and individual goals.

Have fun in the Wasteland!
