Senegalese Tirailleurs
« on: September 11, 2019, 03:54:04 PM »
Hi
Here’s hoping somebody can help me. I am painting an infantry section of these troops for WW2.
In regards the machete? type of weapon that they carry on their belts. Is it carried in a sheaf/scabbard or just hung on a loop?
If it is a scabbard any idea on the colour.
Any assistance would be very much appreciated

From what I have seen the Coupe-coupe is kept in a dark brown leather sheaf. hung from their utility belt. A quick search online will show tons of photos even some in color.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Brilliant, thanks for that. I tried looking online but for some reason couldn’t find colour pictures.
That was a great help and can now finish painting them

As said, it seems to be a leather scabbard.
