you're welcome
happy that you liked it
i have some others but i realized that, also if dealing with Italian East Africa, they refer more to the 1940 WW2 campaign..in fact Italo ethiopian war never ended..Italy was'nt able to conquer the whole country before the Allied invasion..in my opinion for the sake of continuity and also because the appearance of the fighters is the same or very similar (of course Italian tankers and SADF soldiers are out of topic) i could post those plates in this very section, also if labelled , "Interwar" ..but sorry to the moderator if i did wrong..he will probably remove it and i'll post them again in the WW2 section..among them a native constabulary of the PAI (Italian African Police) on motorcycle and sporting a special version of the weapon/bayonet designed especially for this unit ..

Very nice illustrations.  I just came across these while painting some of the new Eureka miniatures Askari for the latter campaign.  Very inspiring and previously unavailable illustrations here.  Thank you for the effort!

Thanks for sharing. I have recently finished a (fiction) book set in this period.
Two blokes & a girl get involved with selling the Ethiopians some dodgy old
armoured cars. Can't remember the title, though it is something like Wolf's Call,
as it is with Vodkafan at the moment. Lots of great ideas for games in it, &
Empress do some lovely figures.

I think the book is Cry Wolf by Frederick Forsyth?

Love the pictures, I wish Empress had done the Somali dubats and more Eritreans.

Cry Wolf is Wilbur Smith rather than Frederick Forsyth, James. It is about armoured cars in Ethiopia, though.

It may be a coincidence, but I think the 1980s Italian comic book Bab-el-Mandeb by Attilio Micheluzzi is based on that - two chaps, a girl and a pair of Rolls' bound for Abyssinia... a bit akin to Corto Maltese in style, albeit not quite there. Still an interesting read with nice imagery, if you can find it.
