I have been playing with the idea to build a feudal guard detachment for my Imperial Knights. Since it mostly stays an idea and I am one of the worst finisher of projects there is, I forced myself to start by kitbashing.
Anyway, Imperial Knights, Feudal Guard = awsome - in my little world.

But what miniatures to use as feudal guardsmen? Bretonnian men at arms sprang to mind, but seeing the prices on ebay let me drop that thought almost instantly.
In came the Frostgrave Soldiers box. Some bits added (Anvil Industrys Cultist Arms, Weapon and one of Puppetwars Cossack heads) and this is what I came up with:

The gun is not attached yet, so it looks a bit wonky on all the pictures.
A group picture followed by some close ups.

A Frostgrave Female Soldier body with Anvil Industrys arms and gun.

Frostgrave Soldier bodies with Anvil Industrys arms and gun.

Frostgrave Soldier body with modified Frostgrave Crossbow arm and a Genestealer shotgun and a Frostgrave Soldier body with Anvil Industrys arm and a Free Peoples banner arm (I don't know what box from though ...).

While I like the pose of the shotgun dude, I think the gun is way too big ... just as is his right hand ... it might work, but I am not sure yet.

As for a Frostgrave warband, here are two examples of what not to do. Change weapons with GW weapons (Chaos Warrior sword and High Elves bow) ... seemed like a good idea at the time though.

But in my opinion it works with Wood Elves bows ...

Ok ... that's it. Hope I didn't bother anybody, I am back to cutting up pastic.

Cheers

I really like what you've done! The models remind me of the pig iron productions cultist miliatia. Or Ferals? Well one of these.

I'm curious to see as how those will look when they're all done and painted.  :D ;)

Well worthwhile to see.  Now I need to look at their catalog.

The Frostgrave bodies work surprisingly well as rag-tag sci-fi infantry bodies.

I've been planning something similar for some Antares Freeborn Ferals. I was looking for bodies with quilted jack type armour, but if all else fails I may start looking at Frostgrave myself.
I'm not a mercenary. Killing's more of a hobby for me.
