Does anyone do 8mm?
« on: September 15, 2019, 06:45:52 PM »
On another gaming site someone mentioned 8mm as a gaming size.
I can't think of any 8mm figures I have ever seen. Was wondering are
there any companies that do 8mm?

Gw re-released epic as 8mm :( Probably saved me a bunch of money. Not sure of anyone else though

Yes, the recent GW adaptus titanicas and the aeronatuical imperium games are 8mm. Distinctly bigger than the old 6mm epic stuff.

The old 1/200 Skytrex WWII stuff could be described as 8mm. It is sometimes called 10mm, but is way smaller than other 10mm ranges, which are around 1/150th.

I was going to say exactly this but fred beat me to it. It's the scale two of our group has chosen for WW2 and now Cold War games.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :

My Baccus 6mm stuff is more like 8mm.  Scale creep is everywhere.

That would be "Heroic 6mm"!

Boki Miniatures has done some Naps in true 8mm.  Adler are close, I believe, although Mr Adler would take exception. Baccus have tall bases, they are bigger looking to me than 6mm, especially compared to the original 6mm, Heroics & Ros, which is closer to 5mm.
The growth of  smaller scale interest in recent times hopefully will allow you to find an option. And yes scale creep is all over the place, so watch out! RB
