Stuka for 1940
« on: September 18, 2019, 06:05:49 AM »
You don't need to represent the Stuka in a bombardment in the new Stuka Bombardment rules for CoC in the 1940 Handbook but I couldn't resist making one up to illustrate the pictures of the AARs in my blog. This is the new Airfix JU87. I've posted a blog post about it and also a bunch of other 1/72 aircraft I've made in recent years, many of which are also from Airfix and some of which you can see below. Great work!
Exactly! Fighter planes with piston engines are always something to admire.

Fantastic work on the Stuka.  They all look great but it really looks like you have applied everything you know to that one.

Excellent. I reckon that will look brilliant over the table. Have you a plan for a stand?

And the Stuka is great because you don't have to choose whether to model it in-flight or on the ground.

I have an old 1/48 model hanging around.. very tempted to drag it out now for my 28mm CoC Blitzkrieg games.

Not yet. I’m thinking either a Perspex rod on a clear base or something old school and simple like fishing line. As it’s only for some photos I’m thinking fishing line might do the trick and I can get Dave to suspend it over and the table while I take the shots.

If it's just for photographic purposes, and doesn't have to withstand a lot of manhandling, the nylon "invisible" thread works well. It's very thin and very clear, and though it looks like spider-web it will support quite a reasonable amount of weight.

I’m guessing by ‘spray gun’ you mean airbrush, in which case the answer is yes, don’t know how I could live with out it.
