North West Frontier Chain of Command
« on: September 23, 2019, 06:40:08 PM »
Inspired by several of the members on here I've spent that last couple of months putting together a game to be played at Devon Wargames Club's Lardy Day, Clotted Lard II.

Here are some pics of the final games and a link to my Blog where there are a ton more photos and lots of moaning about just how much work I had to do!

Hope you like it!

I liked it, damn sure I did, good sir! What I don't like so much is that now my brain is trying to convince me that it is a good idea start a small collection of Pathans, which I need as much as a third leg!  lol

Great work! Nice to see CoC being adapted to new periods. Were you happy with the rules?

Looks great, and interesting to see CoC used for this setting. Bravo for innovation!  :)

That's fantastic and very inspirational.  I'll be copying your system for making hills!  Any chance that you can share a summary of your lists and/or special adaptations for tribesmen?

@Phyllion - Yeah they worked really well, I had originally though of using through the Mud and Blood but Chain of Command meant that the players were dealing with the  command decisions rather than me dealing cards. With the rules tweaks in the Abyssinia supplement it went swimmingly.

@Will Bailie - There is a link in the post that takes you to the Abyssinia rules, The Irregulars rules are in there and so are the British/Empire platoon list. For the Tribesmen, Each of the 3 players had 3 'sections' of 10 men plus 1 senior leader and one 'Notable Fighter' (Junior Leader). 1 Player had a maxim in support and a Lewis gun within a section, 2nd player had a Mountain gun and an Elephant Gun (anti-tank rifle) in one of the sections, and the third had an additional mounted section plus a sniper (two of these sections were poorly armed meaning they only shot at half effect but could remedy this if they beat a British section in combat). Here's a link to the thread I used as inspiration for making the hills and scenery https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=104810.0

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, makes all the hard work worth it.

Awesome job, whiskey priest -- and awesome name as well!  With your turn of the 20th Century Imperials, you might consider adding an early model armored vehicle and/or biplane to future evolutions!

Love the terrain - who made the buildings?  Or were they scratch built?  Nicely done!

My favorite bit, from reading your blog entry on this, was the idea (or the rules, I forget) about native morale rising and falling based on how well they are doing in the game.  I plan to provide very sincere flattery in relation to that concept, I do.

@Mad Guru - The British/Sikh's had a Crossley armoured car each. Did I not mention them in the blog? I've got a Bristol F2b on the painting bench.

@Pops - All the buildings are scratch built by me.

@FifteensAway - All credit to the writers of the Abyssinia rules for that.

Looking good and a nice idea to use CofC rules - hadn’t thought of that! Thanks for the inspiration!
