Well done, Chris, on your entry. That’s a lovely set up and composition with so much depth and perspective. And who doesn’t love a shore party of pulp sailors?

Actually the shore party is not a great photo for a painting competition. I am struggling to see the paint jobs on the miniatures. Some are out of focus, they are poorly lit and tiny. As a diorama it is great, the Island looks really good, lovely trees, etc. But to judge the painting I have to be able to see the painting. Make the little buggers bigger!

In fairness to Chris he joined late on Friday when we realised we had an odd number of entrants. These are miniatures he has been working on for his own project. They fully comply with the rules but were done to help out at very little notice. Whilst I'm sure Chris would take your points on board, he's done this to help me and the competition.

I'm afraid the pics are also not displaying correctly in all cases thanks to the attachment function.
If you click on each pic, it should show in its full correct size and resolution, which definitely gives you a slightly better view of the painter's work

Steve (Elk101) is trying to sort this out.

That makes sense. I had a feeling that a fair few of them were looking a bit smaller than usual, but I thought it might be just me.

Evocative name and scene Captain, looks great.

The composition on the beach scene is really cool, the figure on the hilltop is a nice touch!

Agreed, both are striking and evocative, and I'm intrigued about the character on top of the hill...
