COMMERCIAL - new Italian Wars from Steel Fist Miniatures
« on: October 12, 2019, 12:32:45 PM »
We have new Mounted Crossbowmen and Mounted Arquebusiers, suitable for the Italian Wars.

There are 2 packs for each troop type - figures are with separate heads and random selection of horses..

Also new are a pack of Landsknecht Officers on horses and pack of separate Burgonet helmets.

All on the website now.
Thanks.

Amazing figures! Got me awfully tempted to start an Italian Wars project!

Silly question but do the separate heads for the Crossbowmen and Arquebusiers include Sallets and hats, or are they the more German beards-and-burgeonets Landsknecht-y ones?

Fantastic and awe-inspiring. Would I be alone in thinking that there are a couple there who would readily pass master for 17th century Poles - and even at least one who could become a winged Hussar with a minimum of jiggery pokery… or am I just looking for excuses to buy some?

HappyChappy -
They are provided with the heads as shown in thew images.
We made heads wearing Italian and French style hats for these - but somehow they were lost  and so Oliver is going to sculpt them again - when we have them done we'll decide how we offer them. We'll also get the sallets done as items to purchase, when the new heads are moulded. Will be a little while.

Gungadin -
I'm afraid I don't have enough info on 17th century Poles to answer you on that one - sorry.

Cheers, Simon.

Excellent stuff.

Any idea when the late medieval cavalry figures you previewed will see release, or any hints as to what is coming next for either range?

Now that you mention it, I can see that several of them would not look too out of place in such an environment. That said, there would not be enough of variety for a whole unit, and if you want to mix them with another unit you will need to check that the horses look compatible.

If I thought my painting skills could do these figures (and the period in general) justice I'd be all over this amazing range.

I know everyone has their own style of applying paint to our toys but it really is just practice and technique. Persevere :)

Simon - I know that our mutual friend Stuart has already ventured into this field with converted Perry figures (including plastic Ansars, no less), but will this range include figures suitable for the Henry VIII armies in France and Scotland c.1513?
No plan survives first contact with the dice.
