(COMMERCIAL) Graveyard project for Halloween
« on: October 14, 2019, 08:09:24 AM »
I have been thinking about this for a while now and Halloween coming nearer finally made me decide to do it: build a graveyard terrain!

So I want to have a ground map, lots of graves, a masoleum/crypt building and a iron wrought fence around it.

The ground tiles were easy enough to do. I scribbled a layout I want to use and then converted my existing tiles, adjusting the colors to a more misty and foggy color scheme and added fall leaves on them. I then printed the ones I needed ...

... and glued them together to get the map for my project.

Of course with the modular ground tiles you can create any layout you need but I settled for one where I can display all the other elements I am going create and have enough space for mini movement.

Next will be the graves!

Thank you  :)

Next I started making simple graves. They are designed like paper minis (a front and back side glued together) but you can also double the up for a more realistic look adding some "mass". The PDF allows for a couple of customizable layout options.

Here's a bunch of them made.

The actual grave is a converted of my bases. They are very simple to build and have just been made longer and I have moved the slit-in position to one side. If you don't just want a dirt mound but a proper grave enclosure I added a part for this.

I have also made a base version for the "massive" headstone.

I built a couple of graves and next to each other they start to look rather graveyard like!

Finally here's a test pic with a ground tile.

I have to check how many graves I will need to cover my map. Probably some more to build  :D

Next I will work on the mausoleum building.

For the mausoleum I have a building plus an optional platform in mind.

This is the simple build prototype ...

... but to make it look cool I need to add some ornaments (also optional)!

That way I hope ever build skill will be happy (and hopefully lured in to build all the details too at some time  :D)

I got the texturing finished and now it's starting to look like something  :D

The platform has these options for corner plinths if you want to place some statues or lighting or vases.

The closeup shows an decoration option for the plinths.

With that finished (almost, weathering is missing yet) I will start working on the fences! No graveyard without a cool iron wrought fence!

I have finished the first set, the Mausoleum & platform.

If you are interested go get it here: https://gumroad.com/l/WbMJw

There's also option for interior!

I have also released the headstones on my Patreon as free and advanced versions, so you can build endless variations of graves for your graveyard terrain.

Enjoy!
