15mm terrain recommendations for US player
« on: November 07, 2019, 11:04:43 PM »
Hey all,

I just picked up Chain of Command, hoping to get more use out of my large 15mm German and American armies.  I have zero terrain, though.  I love 4Ground, but can't find any of their 15mm terrain in the US (and their shipping is expensive, erasing the advantages of their being less expensive!).  The Gale Force 9 Battlefield in a Box stuff is also really nice, but also really pricey...!

Are there any other options for US based 15mm wargamers?  I feel like surely I'm just missing something here...  I don't mind unpainted, but do want to be able to open up buildings and such, so I can put infantry inside (or for flat roofs, to put them on top...)

Any advice?

Thanks!

Have a look at Sarissa Precision, they have a worldwide postage cost of £2.50.

I have no connection to them except as a satisfied customer (40 and 28mm scale).

Is cardstock an option?

Assembly may be an obstacle, but they come painted  ; )

Interiors are a breeze since wall width is a function of whatever core (if any) is used:

I’ll second Sarissa.  Postage is cheap and their buildings go together quite well.  Here’s a look at my Nijmegen game with many Sarissa Buildings in use.

In the US, Things From The Basement has a lovely Russian village set and more:

Here are three US 15mm scenery manufacturers that I like the look of but haven't bought from because of shipping costs to the UK (and a weak pound):

Crescent Root Studio. MDF with removable roofs.

Novus Design Studio. Lots of battered buildings and ruins.

Miniature Building Authority. Relatively expensive. Not sure that the buildings open up.

I don't own any of these, so cannot recommend. I presume you are looking for North-West Europe, or perhaps Italy or Tunisia, given that you mention US versus German forces and Chain of Command.

You could try the NWS Wargaming Store. He carries Sarissa  in the US.
