Adler Kfz 13 and 14
« on: October 17, 2019, 06:58:07 PM »

I've been bashing together 1:100 scale (15mm) models of the Adler Kfz 13 and 14, German armoured cars of the interwar and very early WWII period.

The crew figures in the photos are a couple of 15mm German artillerymen from Skytrex.

I've put them up on Wargaming3d (for STLs)
https://www.wargaming3d.com/vendor/mojobob-hoochyman/
and on Shapeways (for prints)

very nice indeed. I only wish more people were doing prints in 1/56 to this quality!

Looks great! You almost can't see that it's printed. :)

I don't usually buy Shapeways stuff because I don't like the way the print-lines stand out. These looked very good in the original picture, posted above, however, so I thought I'd take a chance...and I'm very glad I did. Lovely models with almost no perceivable print lines:

The machine gun in the Kfz 13 is very nice: grown from the bottom of the chassis with a little seat thrown in as well. No awkward sticking teeny-tiny pieces into teeny-tiny holes! Likewise, the antenna on the Kfz 14 comes integral to the vehicles, meaning that for both models all you have to do is undercoat and paint. The Kfz 14 also has a seat and radio-like boxes in the main compartment.

A bit pricey at an average of £10 each, but make a nice addition to my early war collection. Recommended.

Did you end up publishing a file for the vehicle weapon?

Not separately. It's a separate piece in the Kfz13 STL available at wargaming3d.com, but it's not available on its own.

Ah, I see, not sure I want to pay $5 for the MG. I got my file from a free one but no MG included.
