Here is a close up of the original Vampire general that I painted for the undead army back in 2009, eleven years ago! Seems like it wasn't that long :(

Thanks

Very inspiring I really must finish painting my Battle Master miniatures. It is a great game to play with the kids. I have been playing a board game variant with my 6 year old. Counters boards and rules available here: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/700/battle-masters

Wow, some great painting here.

Long ago the local Toys R Us decided to dump this game and put it on sale for next to nothing.  I heard about this and quickly picked up multiple copies.  So did several of my friends.  I intended to cannibalize it for the figures but first I had great fun just playing the game.

When I started organizing and painting I decided to concentrate on the Imperials and traded most of the other figures away.  In return I received enough Knights and crossbowmen to create the units I wanted.  You see I had an idea for the Imperial infantry - pike & shot (sort of).

Added in some Goblin Wolf Riders finally!

So the thing is, I really had a hard time motivating myself to paint these things. I was dreading the - what I perceived as - poor sculpts of the wolves. After stepping away for a while and seeing the Oathmark Goblin Wolf Riders, I realized they were actually half decent! Once I got there in my mind they went pretty fast.

Cracking stuff .Always worth taking the time to see what you've been upto.
Motivation enough to try an throw some paint at a few more of mine this weekend(if I don't get sidetracked with building a bit more of my castle ;D )

I got around to the Chaos Ogre. It was a lot of fun to paint. Freehand belly shield.

Thanks

You've managed to hide the jelly mould feel of the figure really well .Your colour choices and locations are really effective in drawing the eye away from the lack of definition in the ogre.
 Intelligent and insightful painting .

Mark.

Wow great work! The shield is excellent.  The paint job definitely added definition and detail the sculpt is lacking.

Thanks for the kind words!

Despite the soft side detail, this is a great sculpt :)

Wow I love your ogre especially his tummy shield. He looks menacing in the green. Can't wait to see more what you got left to still do?

Oh, so much left to do... So far I have painted one unit of Chaos Warriors, Chaos Knights, one unit of Goblin Riders, and the Ogre. On the Empire side I have painted two units of men-at-arms and one unit of crossbows... So much left to paint :)

Thanks

Here is the latest unit for Battle Masters: the Empire Crossbowmen!

And see close ups of each crossbowman here: https://hourofwolves.org/?view=armies&which=theEmpire&full=1

Next up some cannon action I think!

Thanks
